About the Artist

With 28 years of experience in the art industry, Addie Cukingnan has been a professional visual artist, a gallery owner, and has served on the Executive Council for the National Commission of Culture and the Arts for the National Committee on Arts and Galleries, with a dedication to preserve and promote Philippine art and heritage sites.

As a visual artist, Addie is most known for her signature style featuring bold and radiant florals. She has always believed that her talent is a gift to glorify God and to make Him known.

Because of this, she is a staunch advocate of ministries that focus on serving and bringing God’s love to the Filipino people in tangible ways.

She has held charity exhibits for organizations such as UNICEF, World Vision, American Chamber of Commerce, Millennium Foundation, Banaue Good News Clinic & Hospital, Greenhills Christian Fellowship, International Care Ministries, and more.

Addie is married to Head & Neck/ENT surgeon Dr. Alexander Cukingnan, with three married daughters and three grandchildren.

Addie has had over 50 group shows in major galleries, art festivals and museums, including: the Ayala Museum, GSIS Museum, Paseo Gallery, Art Center, Renaissance Gallery, Art Asia, Artepintura, ArtLounge Manila, and ManilArt.

She has also exhibited at the Mecenavie Le Carrousel Du Louve in Paris in 2024, and the Philippine Center in New York in 2003.

“Though Addie’s works are lush and luxuriant – notice the flaring petals of the magnolia, the bird’s preening feathers – all are bathed in a visual quietude steeped in serenity, exulting in solitude.”

Cid Reyes

“Tita Addie has been like a mother to us at Arte Pintura Gallery. Her joyful and vibrant personality lights up every occasion. Despite her high stature in life, she remains humble and down-to-earth. A prolific artist, Tita Addie has been consistently passionate about the arts for decades. I wish her all the best in everything—she truly is an icon.”

“I love Tita Addie. I owe a lot of where I am in the art scene to her. Her generosity knows no bounds and her honesty, blunt they may be, is a much needed salvo for us artists to improve our crafts.”
